Tree Nursery

In Spring of 2024, the West Springfield Forestry Department re-established a tree nursery at Mittineague Park. The tree nursery will allow the Tree Committee to quickly replace trees on the tree belt when a tree is removed due to damage or disease at half the cost of securing a tree from a vendor.

The tree nursery has been established thanks to a grant provided by the Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

State $59K grant will fund town tree nursery at Mittineague Park
